Inside the Genius platform
Between a signed application and a funded loan, a mortgage passes through many hands. Processors, underwriters, closers, and compliance reviewers each do their part, and the file has to survive every handoff between them. CoreOS™, the loan origination system in the Genius platform, is built on the idea that all of that work should happen on one record.
01Where loan files tend to break down
Delays in loan origination often come less from any single task than from the space between tasks. A file moves from one team or system to the next, and someone has to ask what changed, which documents arrived, and whether a condition is really cleared. When conditions, notes, and decisions are tracked in different places, ownership becomes unclear. Borrowers can feel that as repeated requests, and operations teams feel it as time spent reconciling rather than deciding.
02One system of record, with every decision visible
CoreOS is designed to run processing, underwriting, closing, compliance, and delivery on one connected loan record. Application data, documents, conditions, tasks, findings, and communication stay together, so each handoff carries its context with it. Genius frames the work in three stages: manufacturing the file from the application and its evidence, deciding with conditions and findings connected to review, and delivering the closing and investor package together. The goal is loan manufacturing without broken handoffs between teams and systems.
03What processors, underwriters, and closers would see
In a shared view, each role can see who owns the file at a given stage and what needs to happen next. Every condition is designed to carry its evidence, its status, and its next action, so an underwriter reviewing a document does not need to ask where it came from. Live condition status is meant to replace much of the back-and-forth over where a file stands. For borrowers, a connected file should make it easier for the team to see whether a requested document has already arrived.
04An audit trail, and a place in the larger platform
CoreOS is also built to preserve time-stamped activity, the information that was reviewed, and the authorized decisions made along the way, a record that matters for exams and for loan delivery. In the Genius platform, it receives the application, selected product, disclosures, and documents from upstream, then carries final figures and the complete loan record through settlement and delivery. CoreOS is scheduled to launch in Q1 2027, together with CommandOS, AccelerateOS, and MarketsOS.
What it does
A unified loan file
Application data, documents, conditions, tasks, findings, and communication live on the same record.
Connected operations
Processors, underwriters, and closers share one view, with clear ownership at every stage.
Conditions that move
Each condition carries its evidence, status, and next action through every handoff.
Compliance and audit trail
Time-stamped activity, reviewed information, and authorized decisions are preserved for exams and delivery.
How it works
- 01
Create the file
The application, selected product, disclosures, and documents come into origination together.
- 02
Move through review
Processing work, underwriting findings, conditions, and authorized decisions stay connected on one record.
- 03
Close and deliver
Final figures, documents, and the complete loan record carry through settlement and delivery.
